Canterbury Muslim Community Trust (CMCT)

About Canterbury Muslim Community Trust

Canterbury Muslim Community Trust was established in
2014 by a group of local Muslims in Christchurch. As a
registered New Zealand charity, our purpose is to foster
positive relationships between the Canterbury Muslim
community and wider society, promote inclusiveness and
support within the community, and raise awareness of
Islamic values and the needs of Muslims in Aotearoa, New
Zealand.

Who We Are

The Canterbury Muslims Community Trust (CMCT) is a collective of local Muslims from diverse backgrounds, united by a shared commitment to making a positive impact. We are dedicated to supporting the wellbeing, growth, and inclusivity of our community — both within the Muslim community and across wider Aotearoa New Zealand. Through collaboration with various groups and organisations, we aim to foster understanding, connection, and meaningful change for a stronger, more united future
